matrix Standard accredits WS Training

We are delighted to announce that we have officially achieved the matrix Standard accreditation!

As of 16th January 2025, the matrix Standard has officially accredited WS Training. This achievement highlights our commitment to high-quality Careers, Information, Advice, and Guidance (C/IAG). However, it also shows how we strive to support not just learners, but also employers, partners, parents/carers, and staff.

What is the matrix Standard?

To start with, what is the matrix Standard? The matrix Standard is a globally recognised benchmark for quality. It applies to organisations offering Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) as a core or additional service. If you would like to learn more about the matrix Standard, click here.

How WS Training supports learners through Careers, Information, Advice and Guidance (C/IAG)

Secondly, let’s address the topic of Careers, Information, Advice and Guidance (C/IAG). We aim to deliver high-quality, impactful training that supports the long-term success of our learners and clients. With this purpose in mind, our senior leaders recognise the vital role of Careers, Information, Advice, and Guidance (C/IAG) in helping learners achieve their own goals. This commitment aligns with our mission and public value statement. Whilst career and general Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) is provided to all learners, the policy clearly defines what each department (further education and apprenticeships) can expect.

Personalised support for every learner

We design plans to meet our learners’ individual needs and address defined outcomes in terms of qualifications and the development of soft skills, such as confidence, resilience, and self-management.

In fact, we recognised that all learners, including those with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), are encouraged to discuss and identify their aspirations, set short- and long-term goals, and engage in regular progress reviews.

Recognition from the matrix Standard

Roger Chapman, Head of the matrix Service for The Growth Company said:

“This is a fantastic achievement for WS Training and I would like to congratulate the team on their success. We believe that at the heart of high-quality advice and support services are strong leadership, excellent service and a focus on continuous improvement, all underpinned by effective use of the resources available. The matrix Standard benchmarks organisations against best practice in these areas. With their accreditation success, WS Training is working to provide the best possible support to their clients.”

A message from our Head of Quality

In addition to this, our Head of Quality also commented on our achievement and released the following statement to our staff:

“We want to thank you for your contribution and dedication because this is a great achievement for all of us and we will continue to improve our information, advice, and guidance services. Congratulations to all of you, you have helped to #makeIAGbetter!”

Looking ahead

In conclusion, we are incredibly proud of this achievement, because achieving the matrix Standard accreditation proves our commitment to high-quality Careers, Information, Advice, and Guidance (C/IAG). Consequently, we will continue to support learners, employers, parents/carers, and staff. As previously mentioned, our goal is to provide impactful guidance that empowers individuals to achieve their goals.
