The Derby Study Programme is a fully funded, up-to one-year programme for young people aged 16 to 19 (or up to 25 with an EHCP) who want a different route after school.Â
You’ll learn in small groups of up to 12 learners, receive personalised support and complete a vocational qualification and gain work experience to gain real workplace experience.Â
Along the way, you’ll build employability skills, explore career options and prepare for your next step with confidence.Â

Focused Learning
You’ll be part of a small group of up to 12 learners, giving you a more focused learning environment where you can stay engaged, ask questions and make real progress.Â
Real Experience
You’ll gain practical work experience that helps you understand what employers are looking for and gives you something valuable to talk about when applying for jobs or future opportunities.Â
Your Future
This programme is designed to help you move forward. You’ll build confidence, develop employability skills and get guidance that helps you work towards your next step.

A New Opportunity
One of India’s proudest moments was when the Study Programme Tutor asked her to go to Tesco for supplies. Although she had friends with her, it was her first time going to a shop alone. With the Tutor’s support, India learned to manage her anxiety, preparing for exams and helping her believe in her abilities.
