We are so pleased to announce that on Thursday, 24th June 2024, our Apprenticeship Tutor, Louise Ellis, won the Tutor of the Year award at the Suffolk Adult Learners’ Awards.
Louise has been a part of WS Training for over a decade. She is a qualified Assessor and Internal Verifier, and in the past year, she has been allocated an increased number of learners with additional needs. This change was made because of her remarkable skill in working with students who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Louise believes in her learners and goes above and beyond to motivate and inspire them, providing them with careers guidance and supporting them to make life choices.
She ensures that no learners are left behind and achieve at the same rate as those without additional needs, proving that everything she does is with equality in mind. She has supported learners with ASD to learn, achieve apprenticeships with distinction grades, and secure employment. Louise frequently nominates outstanding learners for various awards, celebrating their achievements and milestones.
Throughout the year, Louise has facilitated masterclasses for hundreds of apprentices, bringing together students from Suffolk and beyond.
In addition to her teaching role, Louise serves as a Safeguarding Officer and is a Mental Health First Aider at WS Training. Her commitment to her students and colleagues is truly inspiring.
