About Course

Course Overview

The Personal Progress pathway offers a personalised curriculum focusing on the unique learning and developmental requirements of learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to support with moving into adulthood. It incorporates enrichment activities, which provides support in wider skills and development as well as Functional Skills Mathematics, English and PSHE. The curriculum is tailored to meet individual needs and education, health and care plan (EHCP) outcomes to empower students in mapping their paths to achievement, accessing enrichment and advance positively toward agreed outcomes, in a secure and empowering setting.

Delivery Arrangements

The pathway consists of 3 days week with some sessions being offsite dependant on the individual timetable agreed. Class sizes are kept small, allowing for small-group activities and personalised one-on-one learning as needed.

Course Breakdown

Learners will gain practical and real-life experiences, which support them with preparing to live as independently as possible. Learners will undertake sessions that are designed to develop communication, social interaction and independent living skills. These are skills that can be used at home and in the community.

Functional Skills Mathematics and English will be delivered throughout with an assessment at the end of the course. Evidence of learning for the qualification is maintained through an online portfolio, which is assessed throughout the course by the designated Tutor.

Progression Routes

Once a young person has demonstrated they have completed the course’s core requirements and progressed towards their end goals, we expect them to be supported to transition into further vocational learning or Adult Care services.

Costs

This course is government funded through the Education Skills and Funding Agency (ESFA). For more information please contact our team.

It has been a real pleasure to have the students from WS Training attend Sandys Farm as a new venture we have felt supported by WS Training in all aspects of setting up the visits to the farm.
We have seen amazing transitions in students facing all types of disabilities and learning differences, overcoming anxiety and change, facing new challenges and working as a team as well as being allowed to show their own initiative. All of this is only possible with the committed and hardworking staff that attend the site, caring and meeting the needs of all the students so they can safely gain valuable life skills and experience.
