About Course

Course Overview

This 1-day IOSH® training course is aimed at those who manage others and manage risk and resources.

The course aims to refresh managers’ and supervisors’ understanding of everyone’s safety and health responsibilities in the workplace and enable them to recognise how a safety management system helps influence, control, and monitor risk to improve safety and health issues in the workplace.

Course Content

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Describe the key reasons to manage safety and health in the workplace
  • Recall safety and health key terms and their definitions
  • Describe the benefits and key parts of an effective safety and health management system
  • Identify how the law can affect safety and health in the workplace
  • Describe how to assess, reduce and control risk in the workplace
  • Describe the principles that underpin good safety and health performance

Assessment

Guided learning hours

A total of six hours, which is made up of five and a half hours of learning and thirty minutes for the assessment. The assessment must be done once the full course has been completed.
