First Aid Annual Update

This course is for delegates that hold a Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work or the Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work. The Health and Safety Executive strongly recommends that First Aiders attend a refresher session once every year during this three year period.

Employers are legally required to keep their First Aiders knowledge and skills up to date during the 3-year period covered by their First Aid qualification. This course is designed to assist the employer in doing so.

By the end of this session delegates will be able to:

• Understand the role and responsibilities of a First Aider
• Be able to assess an incident
• Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty
• Be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking
• Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding
• Know how provide first aid to a casualty who is in shock
• Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries
