Biohazard and Infection Control

The Biohazard and Infection Control course is designed to provide practical advice regarding the risks of biohazard and infection control in the workplace. 

Below is a breakdown of the content covered within the course: 

• Assessment of risk exposure to: 
• • Blood-borne viruses – Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, H.I.V 

• • Bacterial infections- S. Aureus, MRSA, C. Difficile, Tetanus 

• Signs and symptoms of infection 

• Clinical waste 

• Cross infection 

• Universal precautions 

• Hand washing 

• Cleaning 

• PPE 

• Needle stick injuries 

• Safe disposal of sharps 

• Infection control during a first aid incident 

 

There is no formal assessment associated with this course. This is an awareness course, which means that delegates will be assessed throughout the training.
