Our Associate Project Manager apprenticeship is designed for aspiring project managers across all sectors—public, private, and third. Delivery Arrangements

Throughout your apprenticeship, you will enjoy monthly visits from a dedicated tutor, providing tailored sessions either remotely or directly at your workplace—whichever suits you best! Our innovative blended learning approach combines these sessions with an online portfolio, allowing you to upload your work and enabling both tutors and managers to easily track your progress.

You will also benefit from a work mentor who will offer valuable on-the-job support, ensuring you apply what you learn in real-world settings. As part of the program, you are encouraged to engage in 6 hours of off-the-job training each week (based on a 30-hour contract). You will have access to various resources, including a range of masterclasses, designed to deepen your knowledge and connect you with fellow learners.

As you complete your training, you will transition to the Gateway stage, where you will prepare for your End Point Assessment (EPA). This comprehensive evaluation will allow you to showcase your acquired knowledge, skills, and behaviours through a portfolio of evidence, a project and presentation, and a professional discussion.

As an apprentice, you will work towards earning:

  • Functional Skills in Maths and English
    If you have not already achieved Level 2, you will need to successfully complete these essential skills assessments.
  • Master All Aspects of the Apprenticeship Standard

Method of Assessment

Throughout your apprenticeship, you will showcase your accomplishments through a portfolio of evidence, highlighting how you have mastered the essential knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for success.

The End Point Assessment includes two key components:

Written Project and Presentation
Submit a 3,500-word project report that encapsulates your learning. Deliver a 60-minute presentation, followed by a 20-minute Q&A session to engage with assessors and demonstrate your understanding.
Professional Discussion
Participate in a 60-minute formal discussion that is supported by your portfolio, allowing you to discuss your experiences and insights in detail.

Additionally, you can complete your functional skills assessments conveniently, choosing between online or paper-based formats.

Completion of this apprenticeship will lead to eligibility to join the Association for Project Management for Associate Membership. 

Costs

For levy-paying employers, the maximum contribution for this apprenticeship is £7,000, while non-levy employers can access the program for just £350.
