Audience

  • There are no specific entry requirements however learners should have a minimum of level two in literacy and numeracy or equivalent. The qualification is suitable for learners of 18 years of age and above. Learners must achieve three credits from two mandatory units:
  • • Understanding the Principles of Manual Handling
  • • Delivering a Training Session

About Course

Course Overview

This course develops learners’ knowledge and understanding of the principles and process of safe manual handling and risk assessment. It also develops learners’ knowledge, confidence and skills equipping them with a range of participative techniques so that they can prepare, deliver and evaluate a training session.

It’s an intensive course, designed to be delivered over three days. It is ideal for those who train others in organisations. It also introduces delegates to the hazards of manual handling, the risks involved and what to expect from a manual handling assessment.

Course Content

Upon completion of this course, delegates will:

Assessment

The total qualification time for this qualification is 20 hours. The number of guided learning hours for this qualification is 18.

The qualification is assessed by internally set and marked assessments subject to external quality assurance. Where indicated in the unit specifications, the assessment must meet the requirements of the identified assessment strategy/principles. The assessment must include a multiple-choice quiz and a minimum of 15-minute microteach within a training session. All learning outcomes and assessments must be met to achieve a pass.
