Course Overview
If you are working in a unisex salon or barbers shop, you are the ideal candidate for this exciting barbering apprenticeship programme. This apprenticeship is for those interested in cutting and styling the hair of men and boys. You will learn how to shampoo and condition the hair and scalp, style and finish men’s hair, cut hair using basic barbering techniques and cut facial hair.
How long is the course?
This course is delivered over one year through teaching & assessment sessions within our Academy as well as regular assessments within your own salon.

How will I be taught and assessed?
To achieve this qualification you will complete online Evolve knowledge tests and complete practical assessments throughout the year. During the course you will produce a portfolio of evidence containing practical and theory work.
Equipment and resources:
We will expect you to wear smart appropriate clothing at all times but please be aware opened toed or heeled shoes are not allowed within our Academy.
Progression and career opportunities:
A Diploma in Barbering enhances your opportunities in employment in the hairdressing and barbering industry which can improve your job opportunities in the future or increase your existing client base. You may also considering going on to complete the Level 2 or 3 Hairdressing qualifications if you haven’t already achieved these.
