**Learning aims **
To refresh manager and supervisor understanding of everyone’s safety and health responsibilities in the workplace, and enable them to recognise how a safety management system helps influence, control and monitor risk to improve safety and health issues in the workplace.
Course Programme
The Managing Safely Refresher course includes 6 study units:
Module 1: Thinking back – reflect on full Managing Safely course. Module 2: Leadership. Module 3: Plan – review and deliver policy. Module 4: Do – undertake risk assessment. Module 5: Check – review data types. Module 6: Act – applying lessons learnt in the workplace.
The course uses an interactive case study to apply refreshed knowledge to the plan-do check-act model and then link it back to the workplace. Learners will discover what a safety and health policy looks like, come up with ideas to influence safety culture and select the best communication methods to engage a workforce.
Assessment
The IOSH Managing Safely Refresher is assessed by a multiple-choice examination, in which candidates must demonstrate what they have learnt.
Successful delegates are awarded an IOSH Managing Safely Refresher certificate.
