Role / Occupation: Trainee Livestock Handler
Overview:
Baylham house farm is looking for a trainee livestock handler to help assist with general care for the livestock and farm maintenance. This rare breeds farm is located in Baylam, five minute drive from Great Blackenham and consists of 150 sheep, 9 cows, 20 goats, 40 chickens, 10 ducks, 4 horses, 4 alpacas, 20 pigs and rabbits. You will be responsible for all livestock and to help maintain the health of the animals and farm.
This role will involve the following:
This role will be great for someone who loves to work with animals and enjoys being outside in all weathers.
Skills required: Quick Learner, polite, good listener and interested in the farming industry.
Full training will be given in house as no qualifications are required for this role.
Working hours:- Flexible Days 7.30am - 4.30pm, maximum of 35 hours per week.
Start date:- 12th September 2022 ongoing
This Traineeship opportunity includes work preparation training, functional skills, maths and English support for those who require it and a high-quality work experience placement.
You will gain work experience and get on the job training to develop in this role and hopefully progress on to the apprenticeship.
