An opportunity has arisen at WS Training for a Study Programme Careers Advisor. The role is to promote and safeguard the good corporate reputation of WS Training and to raise awareness of the available training programmes and methods of delivery by the most appropriate means. To provide unbiased information and guidance to all applicants. To secure work experience placements for learners on various programmes.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To maintain and update the current tracking systems for the learner engagement.
  • Liaise with Employer Engagement team and use government and internal websites to identify potential learners.
  • Carry out individual and group interviews for potential learners for learning programmes.
  • Interview and recruit learners for the Study Programme to meet ESFA and contractual requirements.
  • Support the interview and enrolment process, facilitating initial assessment and induction activities, ensuring evidence is recorded and up to date.
  • Work with Local Authority contacts, feeder schools, other providers and key stakeholders to generate learner starts for Study Programme.
  • Ensure that all learners are eligible for programmes of study.
  • Identify learners baseline starting points, end goals and steps required through the learning journey, considering the needs of the learner and agreeing SMART targets.
  • Identify suitable transition routes for learners on Study Programme and identify the support and steps required to transition successfully, ensuring progression is achieved.
  • Support with the transition of new learners moving into Further Education or from other provisions on to the Study Programme.
  • Develop resources to assist learners to gain further education or employment.
  • Organise and attend events relevant to Study Programme learners.
  • Build rapport and good working relationships with parents/carers and all external agencies linked with a young person, ensuring communication is maintained.
  • Ensure all learners, where appropriate, receive a schedule to receive CIAG throughout their programme.
  • Develop relations with external organisations to provide CIAG to learners on Study Programme.
  • Ensure all learners, where appropriate, have suitable work experience placements organised at the start of their programme and hours are recorded.
  • Work with Marketing Manager to develop marketing materials and publications to raise the profile of Study Programme.
  • Attend external networking meetings and events to increase business profile and support with marketing strategies.
  • Develop employer relations to maximise opportunities for work placements and employment.
  • Where necessary signpost those learners to the Employer Engagement team if learners are not suitable for Study Programme but suited to an Apprenticeship.
  • In order to help in the efficiency and smooth running of the Company, you may be required to help in any section, carrying out other work and other duties, as the workload so requires.
  • Report to Education Manager and Head of Education, data on work experience statistics, learner starts and learners of concern.
  • Work closely with the Progress Coaches with pastoral and welfare support where required.
  • To listen and support students who may have difficulties, referring to other staff and agencies when necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the delivery of teaching, learning and development of Study Programme learners providing clear direction and information, ensuring there is sufficient support in place to allow them to fulfill their potential ensuring individual set targets are met
  • To develop data focused market engagement plans across the Study Programme to ensure start targets are maximised.
  • Contribute to and take accountability for the development, communication and delivery of WS Training’s vision and strategy.
  • Comply with legalities such as GDPR concerning access to learner information.
  • To ensure a sufficient plan is in place for attracting new recruits onto Study Programme and delivery of market engagement strategies to increase growth in programmes, research and education.
  • Deployment of marketing best practice to deliver measurable increase in brand value, targeted to the goals of WS Training. To ensure brand and messaging integrity.
  • Develop new communication channels, test and prove existing channels through regular monitoring.
  • Engage key internal and external stakeholders as part of plan development and ensure goals agreed are achieved in line with WS Training strategy.
  • To ensure adherence to Health & Safety (including Safe Learner concept), Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities and Code of Conduct policies, Equality and Diversity and that all learners are given fair access to opportunities.
  • To actively promote and support an empowered open success culture.
  • Communication at all levels to be open and honest and a clear two- way channel.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • In possession of broad experience within learner and employer engagement.
  • Possess well-developed interpersonal skills and strong commitment to the job role.
  • Enhanced understanding of Information and Guidance
  • Enhanced DBS check required.
  • Communicate required information with other departments and staff as needed.
  • Comply with relevant legislation and policy, including Equality and Diversity, Health & Safety, Safeguarding and GDPR.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED

  • Business Development Experience
  • Minimum of a level 3 Information and Guidance qualification
  • Minimum of a level 2 functional skills or equivalent in maths and English
  • Desirable to have a minimum of a level 2 ICT qualification
  • Desirable to have a minimum of a level 3 teaching qualification
