NEBOSH National Certificate in Environmental Management

Course Overview:

Introduces the fundamentals of environmental management; providing a foundation for organisations to meet their environmental obligations, assess their environmental impact and put preventive and protective measures in place.  Beneficial to any UK based business it covers UK environmental laws and standardised management methods such as ISO 14001.  The course is aimed at Managers, Supervisors, and individuals with responsibility for managing environmental issues

Course Objectives:

·        Be Able to understand environmental management systems

·        Identify sources of energy and consider energy efficiency

·        Hazards and controls associated with air, land, water and waste

·        Deploy planning methods for management of environmental emergencies

Unit NEC1 Management and Control of Environmental Hazards

  • Foundations in Environmental Management
  • Environmental management systems
  • Environmental impact assessments
  • Control of emissions to air
  • Control of contamination of water resources
  • Control of waste and land use
  • Sources and use of energy and energy efficiency
  • Control of environmental noise
  • Planning for and dealing with environmental emergencies

Unit NEC2 Environmental Practical Application –

·        An  Environmental Review and Report (must be submitted within 14 days of NEC1 examination)

Duration:

Six Days

(This includes Five Days tuition and the exam day)

Preparation of Environmental Review and Report (NEC2) at candidates own workplace

Private Study must also be completed
