Forklift Truck Operator

Course Overview:

To provide the practical skills and the operating safety knowledge necessary for the safe and efficient operation of a Forklift Truck

Course Objectives:

On completion of the course trainees will have an understanding of the following:

• Safety rules and operating procedures
• Importance of good maintenance and safe operation
• Stability and mobility considerations when operating equipment
• Carry out pre shift checks and daily maintenance on their machine

• Basic Maintenance
• Driver/Operator Techniques
• Correct use of Controls
• Lifting Techniques and Weight Assessment
• Specific Load Training
• Safety Precautions
• Pre-test preparation
• Theoretical Safety Code and Stability Lectures
• Safety Video
• Theoretical/Practical Testing

Duration:

Novice Operators - 5 days training required

Experienced Operator with no Certificate - 3 days training required

Experienced Operator and Renewal of Certificate (Refresher) - 1 days training required

NB: Should the trainer, on the day of assessment, determine that further training is required, additional days maybe needed.
