Employee Investigations Training

Course Overview:

In this session we shall consider both the legal and practical requirements for conducting an investigation, as well as considering the difficulties and obstacles that may arise throughout the process. By the end of the morning you will have sound practical knowledge to enable you to conduct a thorough and fair investigation.

Course Content:

  • What the issues are that an employer should investigate (such as grievances, harassment etc.)
  • Importance of investigations as well as the legal points to take into consideration
  • Looking at individual cases (misconduct cases, grievance cases etc.)
  • How to conduct interviews of the individual at the centre of the investigation and witnesses
  • Consideration of how to review evidence
  • Preparation of the investigation report and follow up action
  • Dealing with difficulties that arise throughout the investigation process and how to deal with these.
