Work, Learn and Earn as an Apprentice!
Competition for jobs is fierce so having the right skills is essential.
Apprenticeships offer an exciting way for you to earn while you learn, with many career choices available depending on your interest.
How does an apprenticeship work?
As an apprentice, you are taken on by a local employer. You get paid and you gain practical skills along the way.
Anyone living in England, over 16 and not in full time education can apply.
Your Apprenticeship will take between one and four years to complete, depending on the level of Apprenticeship, your ability and the industry sector you choose
What does WS Training do?
We will help you choose an Apprenticeship which is right for you and then guide you through the recruitment process. Once your Apprenticeship is underway we work closely with you and your employer, visiting you regularly in the workplace. We help you progress your skills and ensure your training is meeting the company’s needs.
Which qualifications can I gain?
During your Apprenticeship you will be working alongside experienced staff to develop job-specific skills. Through a mix of ‘off’ and ‘on’ the job training you will be able to gain a number of qualifications related to the job you do as well as achieving key skills in literacy and numeracy.
How do I find an Apprenticeship vacancy?

What will an Apprenticeship cost?
Note to Employers on Apprenticeship Charges
Both new and existing employees of any age can join an apprenticeship programme. The apprenticeship programme is fully funded for 16 to 18 year olds. For older employees there are significant government subsidies available. The value of these depends on the current government’s skills strategy which takes into account the size of your business, location and sector. Whatever your circumstances, it is unlikely the apprenticeship fee would be more than a few hundred pounds and WS Training will ensure we maximise the government subsidy available to you. Our experienced Training Advisers will guide you through the process and help determine the actual cost to your business.
The e-portfolio system has many benefits for leaners. There are no bulky paper-based portfolios to manage or store, the e-portfolio is based online which is easily accessible via an internet browser and the system is easy to use with minimal training required. Learners & mentors can track their own progress at all times, having instant access to course materials and other resources. Learners can easily upload evidence into their e-portfolio and communicate with their assessor. The learners can also interact with others on their course via the on-line forums.
